![]() Mission Statement We live in an age in which the general public often assumes that the relevance of classical music is confined to elitist and archaic practices. Yet we believe our profession as classical musicians is as essential to our society now as it has been in the past. To us, chamber music is a metaphor for the teamwork and community that defines human relationships at their best. We seek to share our love of music and our creative spirit with our audiences as openly and freely as possible, to inspire and impassion audiences of all ages and experience and to change peoples' lives through music. It is understandable that the traditional concert format possesses an inherent formality and exclusivity, as it assumes that the audience must already be knowledgeable about the medium, the repertoire and the performers. In our experience, greater appreciation comes from education–about the performers, the pieces, and the genre itself. By breaking down the barrier of formality and openly discussing with the audience ourselves as people and performers, the choice of repertoire, and the creative process within the quartet, we hope that audience members can draw some parallels or contrasts to their own personal situations. We strive to find innovative ways to make our art form understood by our current society by humanizing the concert experience. In addition, we recognize the greater value in the study of something so formally complicated as classical music and the richness it has brought to our lives. Music is the nexus of language, structure, mathematics, art and communication. We seek to share with people the intricacy and joy of music, the study of which increases all of our chances to succeed in all areas of life, whether it be relationships, business, leadership, teamwork, analysis, experimentation, or creativity. We are passionate about musical education in order to give people (particularly children) the chance to experience and practice these life skills in the context of music. |
